About

The Matthews House is a wedding and event venue in downtown Cary, centered on a Greek Revival house the Matthews family built in 1915. Over the years it served as a home and held small businesses such as a florist, a dressmaker and a salon. In the early 2000s Sheila and Carroll Ogle bought it, began hosting weddings and later added the Grand Ballroom and a commercial kitchen. The Chung family bought it in 2016 and renovated it with events in mind, and since 2017 Southern Harvest Catering has provided food and drink on site. Guests can use the house, ballroom, lawn and terrace. The venue also hosts public events such as an all-ages Pride dance party and wedding showcases.
