Cabarrus Arts Council

65 Union Street South Concord NC 28025

About

The Cabarrus Arts Council began in 1980, responding to the North Carolina Arts Council's goal of a local arts council in every county, and in 1982 became the county's Designated County Partner for state Grassroots funding. It is housed in the 1876 courthouse in downtown Concord. On the second floor, the former courtroom is now the 227-seat Davis Theatre, which puts audiences close to performers and is named for Roy and Sue Davis, who helped fund its renovation. Visitors can see exhibitions in The Galleries, attend musical performances, and find family activities, all part of the council's work supporting the arts across Cabarrus County.
