About
Founded in 1994 in North Carolina, the Cucalorus Film Foundation is a media arts organization working across disciplines to support storytellers who are emerging or innovative. Through residencies, grants, screenings, a community cinema, youth education and year-round programs, it gives independent filmmakers and media artists the tools, mentorship and community they need to grow creatively and build careers. Its annual festival offers a non-competitive setting for filmmakers and showcases leaders using creativity and technology to change the world. At heart, Cucalorus gathers people to celebrate, discover and create, so bold, original storytelling keeps thriving.
