About

The Glass Jug Beer Lab is a Durham craft brewery with two taprooms: a bottle shop, brewery and beer garden in the RTP area of south Durham, and a downtown taproom beside Durham Central Park. It began after a 2013 state law loosened rules on refilling growlers, and it describes itself as focused on experimental beer and new brewing methods. The RTP location pours 24 rotating taps and has an outdoor beer garden with a nine-hole disc golf putting course. Live music happens mostly on the outdoor stage at RTP from May through October, with solo acts, bands and DJs. The calendar also includes trivia, a silent reading club, open mic storytelling, a Dungeons & Dragons afternoon, an art and makers market and run club meetups. Both taprooms host private parties.
