About
NC State Crafts Center is part of Arts NC State and works as an art school devoted to crafts. Its studios cover pottery, glass, woodworking, photography, jewelry and metalworking, fiber arts, lapidary, mixed media and more. Classes offer hands-on, lifelong learning to students, faculty, staff, alumni and affiliates of NC State as well as the general public, with the goal of supporting research, critical thinking, and personal and professional growth. Members can use the studios when classes are not in session. The center also partners with academic programs, as when anthropology students worked with metal under a blowtorch, and its clay studio manager Blake Kennedy won a 2025 Envisioning Research Contest award for an image of porcelain.
