The Art of Reading: “You Dreamed of Empires”
Mint Museum Randolph · Mint Museum Randolph
About this event
This reading program looks at the novel by Álvaro Enrigue, in which the 1519 meeting of the Spanish and the Aztecs is reversed as dreams fueled by hallucinogens and indigenous cunning undo the conquest. One line sets the tone: "If they're going to end up sacrificing us, let it be in clean clothes." A guided tour of the Ancient American Galleries at Mint Museum Randolph follows.
