Southern Highland Craft Guild New Member’s Exhibition
Folk Art Center · Folk Art Center, Milepost 382, Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville
About this event
The Southern Highland Craft Guild opens its New Members Exhibition with a reception on Sept. 26, honoring 39 artists juried into the nation’s oldest craft guild over the past two years. The show stays up through Jan. 20, 2027. Work on view spans chair caning, mixed media, glass, jewelry, metal, fiber and clay, as well as brooms, wood and leather. At the reception, several of the makers will talk about their work and answer questions over light refreshments. An online version is hosted with ArtsvilleUSA. To join, artists pass a two-part jury judging skill, originality and presentation, and must reside in designated counties across nine Southern Appalachian states; the Guild has about 800 members.
