This exhibit shows a 7-foot-wide tapestry made by nine weavers from Western North Carolina in honor of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Susan Gaire proposed that each woman weave her own panel of one shared image. Designed in early 2025 and woven between October 2025 and March 2026, the piece followed a shared color palette, size rules and three ridgelines running across all panels; each weaver chose her own materials, technique and embellishment. The result is nine panels telling nine chapters of one story. Along with Gaire, the weavers were Betty Hilton-Nash, Stephanie Lyon, Madelaine Hairrell, Kathy Dennison, Anne Berg, Kathy DeOrnellas, Jenny Zia and Jacqueline Fay.
