Notasium Summer Camp's "Music and Play Camp"
- Region
About
Notasium's Music and Play Camp is a week-long summer camp in Durham that introduces children to music in an active way. With counselors guiding them, kids climb on play structures, sing interactive songs, enjoy musical games and try rhythms on percussion instruments. They learn simple group melodies on color-coded handbells and pitched percussion and get a first taste of piano, drums and ukulele. During the week they also build their own instruments and play them together, plus take movement-to-music and painting-to-music sessions. It's run by Notasium, a Durham play space, which also teaches drum lessons, runs 10- and 12-week group music classes for ages from 2 and under up, and rents violins.
