About
The third LP from songwriter Gudasz, COUNTRY, examines the borders people draw across land and sea, mind and body. It follows her 2016 debut Oleander and 2020's Cinema, which MOJO called "a career-making star turn." Between solo records she has played live with Eric Bachmann, Hiss Golden Messenger and Big Star's Third, and led the Ask Me Anything trio tour alongside Kate Rhudy and Libby Rodenbough. Her writing mixes dreamy art-pop, rootsy surf, cinematic Southern twang and witchy rock and roll. COUNTRY grew from a semi-hollowbody guitar she found in a closet and the song "Fire Country," with eight more songs following; daily walks in the woods shaped many of them, finished afterward at the piano. She recorded most of it with her longtime friend Ari Picker.
