About
SoundStudio412 is a professional recording studio in Candler, North Carolina, just outside Asheville. Garrett N. Derhofer, a producer and mix engineer, founded it, and acoustician Steve Durr designed it. Featured in the Class of 2025 by Mix Magazine, it offers tracking, mixing and production for full bands, solo writers and remote mixing clients. The facility includes a 130 sq ft isolation booth, a control room of 260 sq ft and a 715 sq ft live room, built around a Calrec S2 analog console, along with multicam video and on-site lodging. Set among the mountains of Western North Carolina, the studio aims to be a creative oasis where artists can focus fully on performing, with well-planned sessions, organized projects and a comfortable workflow where everyone feels at home.
