About
Caleb Johnson sees his job as spreading the gospel of rock-n-roll. The singer got his start on American Idol and has toured hard with KISS, Trans Siberian Orchestra and Black Stone Cherry, winning crowds with a thunderous voice and a magnetic stage presence. After his 2019 album Born From Southern Ground, he cut Mountain Mojo Vol. 1 in three fast days at Blackbird studios in Nashville during 2020. The studio band includes Jason Bonham, Josh Sawyer, Tyler Bryant, Audley Freed, Mike Webb, Tony Lucido, Damon Johnson, Devonne Michele, Gale Mayes and Angela Primm, a mix of rock names and Nashville session players behind a soulful, southern, hard rocking sound. Brandon Bell engineered the record, Vance Powell mixed it and Pete Lyman mastered it. Johnson calls it the best record he has made so far.
