About

The Bush Farmhouse has served South African-inspired food and drink since 2021, cooking with locally sourced ingredients and organic produce grown in its own garden and greenhouse. Its owner grew up in South Africa and at age 18 played piano for Southern Suns Hotels, its youngest pianist. He went on to work at New York restaurants including Bayard and IL Buco, then opened MADIBA in Brooklyn in 1999 and ran it for 20 years. The menu features South African dishes such as boerewors, bunny chow, pap and malva pudding, alongside South African wines. Reservations are not required.
