About
Bronco is a doom metal and Southern sludge band from near Cape Fear, south of Wilmington, North Carolina. It grew out of TOKE after guitarist Tim Bryan was badly hurt in a motorcycle accident in 2021, and it carries that band's work forward while trying new ideas. The self-titled debut full-length "Bronco" came out 28 February 2025 and is rough, unpolished and honest, with crawling aggression, slow riffs and barbed vocals in the tradition of North Carolina sludge acts like WEEDEATER and SOUR VEIN. The record mixes grinding horror and weary resignation, a soundtrack for grim self-reflection.
