About
Epta Astera looks back to gregorian chant as a high point of Christian music, taking its polyphonic harmonies and melismatic melodies and blending them with atmospheric post-metal and assorted folk instruments for music that is aggressive, melancholy and beautiful. The band believes in free culture: every release can be downloaded at no cost, and source tracks are available on request for remixing. In 2009 it released SALIGIA, a concept album on the seven deadly sins with symphonic and industrial touches. The band is now at work on Semper Reformanda, an EP of five songs that leans toward post-black metal and drops the symphonic element, built around the five Solas of Reformation doctrine.
