About
Okonski is a jazz piano trio: Steve Okonski on keys, Aaron Frazer (also of Durand Jones and the Indications) on drums, and Michael Isvara "Ish" Montgomery on bass. Its sophomore LP, the spiritual jazz record 'Entrance Music,' came out at the top of 2025, drew praise from Rolling Stone, BBC, Billboard and KEXP, and has passed 10 million streams. In 2026 the trio issued a run of singles, including collaborations with saxophonist Cochemea and harpist Rachel Kitchlew, ahead of a third LP expected in 2027. Colemine records gathered those tracks and some live cuts on a limited cassette, Additions, with the hip-hop-inspired EP 'Trio Session Demos' on the B side. The group recently sold out a show in LA and planned its first UK/EU tour.
