Shana Tucker

Shana Tucker is a composer, cellist and singer-songwriter whose career spans two decades. She created "ChamberSoul," her mix of classical, jazz, folk, soul and acoustic pop, and has played the Kennedy Center, REDCAT in Los Angeles and Wits Theatre in Johannesburg. Her debut album SHiNE drew praise, and her more recent release is Hiding in the Light. An NPR interview about SHiNE led Cirque du Soleil to hire her as cellist and vocalist for KÀ in Las Vegas, where she performed for 5 years. She has performed or recorded with Lisa Fischer, Norah Jones, Sweet Honey in the Rock, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Indigo Girls, Nnenna Freelon and others, and her vocals appear on "Better" by The Foreign Exchange. Her TV work includes co-hosting PBS-NC's "Block Party Live @ Home" and composing for The Legacy of Black Wall Street on OWN. She is also a teaching artist who focuses on underserved communities and Title I schools.
