The Tar River Boys have played bluegrass in Eastern North Carolina since 1972 and call themselves the region's original bluegrass "Boy" band. They have performed in nearly every kind of setting, mixing original songs with contemporary material. The group believes music can carry listeners to another time and place, and enjoys sharing that power with fans and fellow musicians, finding real joy in making music for people everywhere.
