About
Walpyrgus is a heavy metal band formed by veterans of Viper, Daylight Dies, Twisted Tower Dire and While Heaven Wept, among others. The project began the way many backstage talks do, with musicians who respect each other agreeing they should play together, but this time it actually happened. Their music draws on Maiden, Lizzy, Priest and Fate, played by people who have spent their lives in this style. A self-titled demo that became an EP came first. The debut album, "Walpyrgus Nights", is an eight-song record full of hooks, layered guitar harmonies, soaring vocals and surprising turns through classic Hard Rock and early Metal, with tales of demons, spectres and witches. It took about five years to develop, was recorded over two years under Tom Phillips of While Heaven Wept, mixed by Kevin "131" Gutierrez and features art by Gustavo Sazes. It was released on June 9, 2017, and the band also appeared on Metal Massacre 14 from Metal Blade Records.
