About
The Ashe County Bluegrass and Old Time Fiddlers Convention is a weekend of music from the Ashe County Arts Council, now past its fifty-fifth annual edition and held rain or shine. It honors the musical heritage of the community with individual instrument and band competitions, a square dance, a Blue Ridge Opry concert, food and good company for players and listeners. Proceeds go to Junior Appalachian Musicians, or JAM, which teaches fiddle, banjo and guitar to students in grades 3 through 8 at the Ashe Civic Center.
