About
Fly Around Music and Arts Festival is a two-day summer festival in Lansing, in Ashe County, celebrating the natural beauty and musical traditions of Appalachia. It began after Hurricane Helene's flooding in 2024, inspired by the community effort centered on the old Lansing School and Lost Province Arts, and it raises money for the restoration of that school building, now the Lost Province Center for Cultural Arts. The first evening is held at the Lansing Cafe and General Store and the second day on the arts center grounds. Founded by Ashe County resident Chris Jude with local partners including Buddy Holler Studio, it is a grassroots, community-run event supporting the town of Lansing.
