About
Brevard Music Center Summer Institute is a summer institute and festival that prepares talented young musicians to perform great music at a demanding level. Each summer, students, faculty and staff share the campus, sharing meals, rehearsals, classes and concerts in a quiet natural setting suited to work, rest and reflection. The culture is informal: students and faculty may sit in on almost any rehearsal, and much teaching happens casually, between faculty and students and among students of different ages. The High School and College divisions live in separate parts of campus under different policies. Students arrive from nearly every state and from abroad, and many alumni keep lasting ties to the place and the friendships made there.
