About
The Department of Music at Meredith College in Raleigh offers a music major and minor within a liberal arts curriculum, helping students develop creativity through performance, composition and improvisation with nationally recognized faculty. Degree plans support careers in music performance, music education and music-related business, and students who simply want to grow their musical knowledge can also study and perform. Music majors sing and play in vocal and instrumental groups of all sizes, opera workshops and keyboard ensembles. Prospective students can visit through the Music Major/Minor for a Day program. Meredith opened as a college for women more than a century ago, and today men are enrolled in its graduate programs.
