About
NC State University's Introduction to Music Technology Camp is a one-week summer camp for high schoolers just starting out with music software and composing. Run by the university's Department of Performing Arts and Technology, it is open to rising 9th through 12th graders. Campers learn how technology shapes the way music is made, produced and heard, and write their own electronic tracks in GarageBand and with other software and gear. Faculty work closely with each student on songwriting with software, music theory and keyboard skills, and working with digital instruments. It's a good fit for teens wanting to build theory skills to become better songwriters. The department also runs other high school programs, such as a more advanced electronic music production camp, a Day of Dance and a High School Band Day.
