About
The music program at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro has held accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Music since 1991. It offers a bachelor of arts in music, with a performance or general concentration, and a bachelor of science in secondary music education. Small classes give students individual attention from faculty, and the program emphasizes career development and preparation for graduate school. On campus, students can join the marching, concert and symphonic bands, the university choir, the chamber singers, jazz and vocal jazz ensembles, opera workshop, and brass, woodwind and percussion ensembles. A&T calls itself the nation's largest historically Black university. Prospective students arrange auditions through the program office.
