About

School of Rock in Wake Forest teaches music through performance, pairing private lessons with group rehearsals to build musical skill along with confidence, teamwork and resilience. Rookies introduces young children with no experience to chords, rhythm and song structure while they try several instruments. Rock 101 adds a weekly private lesson to a group rehearsal of simplified classic rock songs. The flagship Performance Program has kids and teens rehearse iconic rock songs in peer bands, with parts tailored to each student, and play live at local Wake Forest venues every few months. A Songwriting program teaches arranging and theory and ends in a showcase of original songs, and an Adult Program serves students over 18, from beginners to experienced players.
