About
The American Harp Academy is a one-week summer harp intensive hosted at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem and led by UNCSA artist faculty member Jacquelyn Bartlett. Its motto is "Nurturing the Artist within the Harpist." Participants study with performers and teachers through masterclasses, seminars, creative activities and chamber music or harp ensemble rehearsals, with several hours of daily practice expected. The program helps harpists prepare for competitions, auditions, recitals and new repertoire, and it ends with a final concert. All skill levels are welcome, from age 12 to adult, and older students can stay in on-campus housing. Applicants bring prepared, memorized solos plus a piece in progress.
