UNC School of the Arts- Summer Composition/Music Technology Intensive

About

The Summer Composition and Music Technology Intensive at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem is a two-week program for high school and college students who want to develop as composers. Participants work with UNCSA composition faculty, alumni and guest artists, using both electronic and acoustic techniques to find their own compositional voice. The program runs in a hybrid format: the first week is online, with private lessons and seminars while students write and refine a new piece, and the second week is in person. That week combines private lessons, studio class, music technology seminars, theory, analysis and instrumentation classes, improv games, and workshops on topics such as college applications, copyright and networking. It includes a professional reading and recording session of student work.
