About

The School of Music at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem is a conservatory program that combines one-on-one study with artist mentors and performing. Students perform in over 200 recitals, concerts and operas a year, some in collaboration with UNCSA's other arts schools, and attend weekly master classes with guest artists. The school offers high school, bachelor's, master's and post-graduate certificate programs, and it's home to the A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute, a tuition-free graduate program for young singers. Founded in 1963, UNCSA calls itself America's first public arts conservatory. Its Community Music School offers lessons and summer camps for ages 5 through adults, and select faculty and student recitals stream free online.
