About
Immediate Theatre Project is a professional theatre company in Asheville that aims to tell stories about life here and now, shared between artists and audiences in real time. It favors letting the playwright's words drive a production rather than relying on spectacle. The company presents professional productions and public readings, reviving American classics, staging strong contemporary drama and developing new plays. It hires experienced artists and pays them fairly, and it seeks out collaborations with artists and companies in other fields and cities to help theatre makers in western North Carolina grow.
