About
The Saluda Depot Museum is housed in a preserved historic railroad depot and shares the story of the railroad, the famous Saluda Grade, and the people and mountain community formed by one of the most remarkable rail routes in the United States. Visitors can explore railroad artifacts and historic exhibits about the trains, workers and passengers that gave Saluda its place in the rail history of Western North Carolina. The museum also aims to serve as a visitors center and as a learning resource for Saluda School and schools in Polk and Henderson County, and it relies on volunteers and community support.
