About
Sea Notes Choral Society is a Southport chorus whose members sing great choral music for their community. It was organized in May 1974 to sing at a fundraiser for the Brunswick County Bicentennial Committee, and that one-time performance grew into more than fifty years of spring, patriotic and Christmas concerts for coastal North Carolina. The group pairs choral masterworks with popular community programs. Since 1974 it has produced a patriotic program each year at the NC Fourth of July Festival, held in the town, and in the Christmas season its singers have caroled at the Christmas by the Sea Candlelight Tour, at the Open House in historic Brunswick Town, and at many Wilmington festivals. Sea Notes gives three free choral concerts a year and funds an annual scholarship for student musicians.
