About
Burntshirt Vineyards is a family-run winery with a tasting room and winery in Hendersonville and a tasting room and bistro in Chimney Rock. Owners Lemuel and Sandra Oates began as grape growers and later started making estate wines; the name comes from a mountain legend about farmers tossing their shirts into field fires for luck. Visitors can tour the winery, taste wine on the terrace overlooking vines and apple trees, and dine at the Vintner's Table restaurant. Music at the Vineyard brings live performers to the Hendersonville tasting room.
