About
Willingham Theater is the 193-seat stage inside the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center, which opened in September 2011 as the permanent home of the Yadkin Arts Council. The council, a nonprofit active since 1975, once moved among spaces around Yadkinville, including a high school auditorium and a retired freezer locker. The center also holds the Welborn Gallery, showing 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional work by local and regional artists, along with resident artist studios known as the YARD, a performing arts academy, the Center Bistro, the Spark Costume Shop, classrooms and the Front Yard space. Visitors can arrange to see artists at work in the studios.
