    About

Raleigh Youth Choir teaches young people to sing, and to love singing, through quality instruction and performance, and hopes to bring together youth from every culture and background. It began in 1968 as Raleigh Boychoir, launched with $50 given by the Women's Club of Raleigh; for 55 years its choirs of boys sang across the state, the country and the world, with audiences that included several U.S. Presidents and the Pope. The choir now has six core ensembles, each led by music teachers who are board certified and who meet every singer at their own level, offering mentorship and encouragement. Placement auditions, held periodically through the year and open to all, are relaxed and meant to find the right ensemble for each young singer.
