About
Smoke and Barrel opened in downtown Sanford in May 2015, in a building whose story goes back to the 1920s and which housed Oliver's, a women's clothing store, from the early 1930s until 1994. Along with The Temple Theater, it has become a centerpiece of the downtown district. The kitchen focuses on slow-smoked BBQ and scratch-made dishes, and the bar offers a chosen bourbon list and craft beer, all in a relaxed setting. People come for family dinners, drinks with friends, or an evening of live music from local and regional artists, which the owners call an important part of the place.
