Cirque Mechanics: TILT!
Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts · Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts, 733 Rivers Street, Boone, NC, 28607, United States
About this event
Cirque Mechanics brings Tilt! to the Schaefer Center, a circus show set in the neon nostalgia of America's 1980s amusement parks. A giant Ferris Wheel anchors the stage, ringed by human-powered contraptions that recreate classic midway rides and games, and the show mixes circus arts, storytelling and mechanical staging with humor and physical skill. It is pitched to circus fans, theater lovers and anyone nostalgic for the 80s. Chris Lashua, a German Wheel artist from Boston, started the company in 2004 following Birdhouse Factory, made with the Circus Center of San Francisco; its other shows include Zephyr, Pedal Punk, Boomtown and 42FT- A Menagerie of Mechanical Marvels. Tier 3 seats cost $25, Tier 2 $35 and Tier 1 $45, while App State Students and Children/Students pay $10; App State Faculty/Staff save $5 on every tier. All prices include NC sales tax.
