Don and Catharine Bryan Cultural Series
Nags Head, NC
- Coastal PlainRegion
About
The Bryan Cultural Series presents visual, literary and performing arts on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, aiming to inspire, educate and challenge audiences. Founded in 2012, it grew from the hope of Col. Don Bryan and his wife Catharine to bring top cultural events to their adopted home. Its first program in 2013 was a concert by Chris Kypros, a pianist from Norfolk, and it works to keep events affordable and accessible. Guests have included historians David McCullough and Clay Jenkinson, the Amara Piano Quartet and cellist Soo Bae, and in 2020 US Poet Laureate Joy Harjo gave a virtual reading. The Series also hosts its own Surf and Sounds Chamber Music Series.
