About
Performance Edge, founded in 2002, trains young performers in the Triangle and aims to draw a diverse group of students. Its programs grew out of workshops and a summer music camp developed with Arts Together in Raleigh from 1998 to 2002. Offerings are tailored to age groups from fifth grade through college and include the Summer Showcase, the Total Performer Workshop, the NC Honors Chorus Workshop, Middle School Workshops and Capital Ambassadors; some require auditions and others are open, and a limited number of scholarships based on need are available. More than 200 young people from over 50 schools take part each year, and students are encouraged to bring their skills back to school, church and community arts programs. Many alumni stay involved by helping with later programs.
