About
ShopSpace is a Raleigh nonprofit started by craft lovers, metal and wood work above all, who want to pass that passion on. Its facility centers on a full metal shop for forging, fabrication, knife making and jewelry, plus work stations, a teaching area, storage for projects and a tool area. ShopSpace runs classes for every skill level in welding, blacksmithing, jewelry making, knife making and more, and also offers shop and equipment access plus private consultation for special projects. Trained staff greet, supervise and teach users whenever the shop is open. Programming began with metalworking, and the organization says it may grow into woodworking, textiles and other crafts that need costly tools, depending on what the community wants.
