About
The Brevard Music Center is a summer institute and festival where gifted young musicians learn to prepare and play great works at a high level. Each summer, students, staff and faculty share the campus as a place to live and work, sharing meals, rehearsals, classes and concerts in a quiet, natural setting. The place keeps an informal culture: students and faculty may sit in on almost any rehearsal, and much teaching happens casually, between faculty and students and among students of different ages. Students arrive from almost every state and from abroad, split into High School and College divisions that live in separate parts of the campus. Many alumni form lasting friendships and stay attached to Brevard.
