About this event
St. Paul & The Broken Bones, a soul ensemble formed in Birmingham, Alabama in 2011, brings its live show to the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts. Paul Janeway sings, joined by Amari Ansari on saxophone, Chad Fisher on trombone, Allen Branstetter on trumpet, Al Gamble on keyboards, Kevin Leon on drums, Browan Lollar on guitar and Jesse Phillips on bass. Their self-titled sixth album was recorded at FAME Studios with producer Eg White and mixes cinematic rock, gospel-tinged ballads and psych-funk grooves; songs include “Sushi and Coca-Cola” and “Going Back.” The band has played alongside The Rolling Stones, Lizzo and Black Pumas, appeared at Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo, and was invited by Sir Elton John to perform at his Oscar party. Tickets are $65 Tier 1, $55 Tier 2, $45 Tier 3 and $25 for App State Students, with App State Faculty/Staff getting $5 off any tier, and NC sales tax is part of each price.
