MOMIX: Botanica
Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts · Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts, 733 Rivers Street, Boone, NC, 28607, United States
About this event
MOMIX Botanica follows the seasons and the course of a day in a surreal trip through images of nature. The performers combine athletic movement with props that seem to defy gravity, film-like projections and puppetry, set to a score that runs from birdsong to Vivaldi. The company calls it “visual theater.” MOMIX, directed by Moses Pendleton and based in Washington, Connecticut, has made dance and illusion work for more than 45 years, appearing at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Closing Ceremony and on PBS’s Dance in America. Strobe effects occur about 3-4 minutes into Act II and last about 5 minutes. Tickets are $45 Tier 1, $35 Tier 2, $25 Tier 3, and $10 for App State Students and Children/Students, with $5 off all tiers for App State Faculty/Staff. NC sales tax is part of each price.
