About this event

Before the Museum opens, participants gather in the galleries for a guided morning of meditation, mindful walking and reflection. It starts with a short seated meditation, then moves into a walking meditation through selected exhibits, with gentle prompts for personal reflection and connection with the art. The focus is not art history but noticing what comes up through stillness and mindful seeing. Much of the session is held in noble silence, with brief chances to share. No meditation experience is needed. The dates are 12/5, 11/7, 10/3 and 8/22, led by Joshua Canter, founder of the Asheville-based True Nature Travels and Education, who holds a master’s degree in Contemplative Psychology. The Staff Entrance, on the left side of the building, is the way in.
